Lisa grew up in the small community of Aledo, IL. Rich in agriculture, community pride and a deep passion for high school athletics, Aledo provided her with excellent tools for understanding the average viewer. Lisa started her broadcast career early on by working at the local radio station WRMJ 102.3 FM right after Junior High School. She quickly learned the business, doing everything from disc jockeying and broadcasting live newscasts to writing and cutting commercials, engineering live remotes and programming.

Lisa attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO and made the jump from radio to television. While in Columbia, she started her TV career as an anchor/reporter at the local NBC affiliate, KOMU. There she filled the role of a weekday one-man band reporter shooting, editing and writing her own stories, and anchored the evening news on the weekends.

As a student at Mizzou, Lisa studied abroad in London, England and interned with the FOX Business Network. While abroad she had the chance to travel throughout France, Greece, and Italy; She credits those experiences for officially giving her the "travel bug." After returning from the UK, Lisa headed to New York City and interned with the Fox News Channel on the show Fox & Friends, working side by side with Fox & Friends anchor, Alisyn Camerota.

In May of 2011, Lisa graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism with honors with a Bachelor of Journalism degree and a minor in business. Following graduation in May, Lisa covered the catastrophic EF-5 tornado that hit Joplin, MO, becoming the deadliest tornado to strike the United States since 1947. Her story, along with others, was published in the book, Joplin: Our words, Our Stories, Their Hope .

Lisa is passionate about volunteerism and advocating for causes close to her heart. Before coming to KTVQ, Lisa had never been to Montana. Now she enjoys getting out and about to explore what Big Sky Country is all about. Lisa also loves spending time with her dog, a Pomeranian named Gunner, traveling to the Midwest to visit family and friends, exercising, and enjoying a great cup of coffee each morning with the viewers at home.
